F 비자 보험조건
HEALTH: INSURANCE
The Kansas State Employees Health Care Commission, in cooperation with the Regents Institutions of the State of Kansas, a Blanket Injury and Sickness Insurance Plan underwritten by The MEGA Life and Health Insurance Company, Oklahoma City, Oklahoma and administered by Student Insurances to students and their dependents.
The Health Care Commission is offering two plans for the school year.
The Comprehensive Plan: This plan provides the most comprehensive coverage; $250,000 Maximum Benefit.
The Limited Plan: This plan is offered at a lower rate while providing $100,000 Maximum Benefit.
The Student Healthcare Network, a national network of hospitals and health care providers, is also available and may provide savings to insured students. To find out if there are hospitals or health care providers in your area who are part of the network, cal the Company at 1-800-767-0700. If you choose to seek treatment from an out-of-network provider, your benefits may be reduced. Participation in either of these programs is voluntary. Responsibilities of a J-1 Scholar
1. Report address changes to the International Student Center (ISC). U.S. federal regulations require that all J-1 scholars report a change of address within 10 days directly to the ISC. The ISC is required to provide this information electronically to USCIS through SEVIS.
2. Report departure date and reason for departure to the ISC. There are times when a scholar will leave the university prior to the Program End Date lsited on the DS 2019. The scholar must notify the ISC of the date of departure and the reason for ending their program at Kansas State University.
J-1 Professors or Research Scholars in the U.S. on November 18, 2006, or arriving in the U.S. after this date, will be unable to re-enter the U.S. as a Professor or Scholar for 24 months after the completion of their program at Kansas State University. If the scholar is not maintaining a continuous and collaborative relationship with Kansas State University and is not transferring to another J-1 program, the 24-month bar to re-enter the U.S. in the J-1 Professor or Research Scholar category will be triggered. Therefore, it is very important the for scholars to keep the ISC informed of future plans and intentions..
3. Report changes in Program to ISC. Scholars must notify the ISC whenever there is a change in their program. These changes include new locations, new funding sources, new laboratory or department.
4. Abide by employment regulations. J-1 scholars may only conduct research or teach only at Kansas State University unless specifically authorized ahead of time in writing by the ISC to give a lecture or consult at another institution. Scholars must contact the ISC if invited to speak at another institution.
5. Maintain adequate health insurance. J-1 scholars must maintain adequate health insurance for themselves as well as their dependents throughout their entire stay in the U.S. Failrue to do so renders the scholars and their dependents "out of status" and the scholars may be removed from the J-1 program. Minimum insurance requirements are show in the table below.

6. Obtain travel signature prior to traveling outside of the U.S. Scholars and their dependents must obtain the signature on their DS-2019 from a staff member at the ISC prior to traveling outside the U.S.
7.Apply for a program extension prior to the DS-2019 expiration date. Extensions are granted if the scholar is eligible for the additional time requested and the funding is adequate.
8. Receive transfer authorization prior to leaving. Scholars must notify the ISC of plans to transfer in advance. In order to process the transfer, the scholar must notify the ISC and provide the name of the new program sponsor and an offer letter from the new institution. The ISC must correspond with the new sponsor to complete the transfer electronically through SEVIS.
9. Depart the U.S. within the 30-day grace period. J-1 Scholars and all their dependents must depart the U.S. within 30 days of the Program End Date listed on the DS-2019.

미국 현지에서 AIG 보험 신규 가입시 1달간의 면책기간이 있습니다.
보험 가입후 1달후부터 1년간 보험혜택을 받을 수 있습니다.
그러므로 학기시작 deadline 1개월 전에 가입하셔야 합니다.
(보험가입을 2007. 5. 21 하셨더라도 보험시작은 2007. 6. 21부터 적용이 됩니다.
한국에서 가입하시면 바로 적용이 됩니다.) |

1. 미국 학교보험의 경우 학교 주변의 병원을 지정하여 이용하므로 학교가 있는 주를 벗어나면 보상한도가 낮아지거나
심지어 보상이 안되는 경우도 있습니다.(AIG는 미국뿐만 아니라 전세계 어디에서나 보상 됩니다.)
2. 미국 학교 보험의 경우 방학 동안에 발생하는 사고는 보상이 안됩니다. 유학생 보험이 사고가 60%이상이 방학 동안에
발생 합니다. 많은 유학생들이 방학을 이용하여 여행이나 레져 활동을 계획합니다. 그러므로 사고 발생율이 높습니다.
(AIG 는 365일 24시간 거의 모든 사고 및 질병을 보상하여 드립니다.)
3. 미국 학교 보험은 우리나라 의료보험 같이 치료비의 30%~40%는 내가 부담해야 합니다.
예를 들어 의료비가 고액인 미국의 경우 맹장염으로 수술에서 완치까지 한화로 1500만원 정도의 치료비가 나옵니다.
여기서 내가 부담해야하는 부분이 400만원~500만원 정도 됩니다.
(AIG는 1500만원에서 10만원의 면책금액을 제외하고 1490만원 전액 보상 됩니다. 상해로 인한 치료비는 전액 보상 됩니다.
ex) 미국에서 감기로 3일 정도 입원시 병원비 300만원 정도 나옵니다.)
4. 미국 학교 보험보다 AIG 보험이 최하40%~ 50%정도 저렴 합니다.
5. 자동차 보험을 드실 때 OBI(자기신체사고)항목은 제외하고 가입하면 됩니다.
AIG 유학생보험에서 자기신체사고(OBI) 은 AIG보험 상해 부분에 해당됨으로 $50,000 (가입시 가입 플랜 한도액) 까지
커버하고 있기 때문입니다.
자동차보험료 연간 최소 $200 ~ $300 이상의 보험료 절감효과를 보실 수 있습니다. |
